I recently visited Boston and stumbled upon this gem hidden in Charlestown, MA. We were walking our way to Bunker Hill and saw a few people outside this modest church on the corner of Warren and Winthrop. It piqued my curiosity and I decided to see if we could go in. We were in luck and Mass had just let out.
We met a man in a winter coat inside that had his black lab with him, which I thought curious. It turned out that he was Father Ronan, pastor of the church. He kindly gave me permission to take photographs and handed us a pamphlet to get to their website for more information about the history of this church.
St. Mary’s Church was amazingly beautiful inside! The vast architectural beauty of the hammerbeam design with the angel detailing and stained glass was breathtaking. Hope you like the pictures and get a chance to visit Saint Mary–Saint Catherine of Siena Parish next time you are in Charlestown, Massachusetts.
